Kirk’s specialties include purchasing systems, negotiations, estimating and product development. He is known to be very tough yet transparent when he works with national account representatives and local trade partners. Kirk applies common sense pre-construction principles to the operation with the goal of streamlining processes and reducing costs. His seasoned experience also includes negotiating with national accounts, managing rebates, value engineering plans as well as on-boarding new trade partners. He shapes the department structure by providing leadership, clear job descriptions and job specific training. Kirk has proven experience implementing enterprise systems software as well as creating databases from scratch to run an entire purchasing, estimating and contracting function. He thrives in cost analysis, tracking cost changes, system setup, itemized quantity takeoff and unit pricing. As a college professor, Kirk is a teacher at heart who loves sharing his wealth of knowledge and industry experience with his former teams and current students.
